<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a simple system for transforming yeast in a short period, and to develop a high-expression vector. <P>SOLUTION: The transformation system with a yeast deprived of peptide transport ability as host can be developed by using a vector containing the peptide transport enzyme gene(PTR2) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Using an expression vector utilizing a promoter for the PTR2 of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a gene lying downstream of the promoter can be expressed in a YPD medium, unrefined Japanese Sake, wort, grape juice, etc. As a result, by the further addition of one marker for the gene transfer into the yeast, the gene manipulation of the yeast can be accomplished more easily.
