<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming device which enhances the reliability of communication and can curtail a transmitter at low cost and high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device has a signal line which connects a plurality of modules to each other by a communicating means, and transfers a reference clock for a synchronous communication which enables synchronous communication to be made between the adjacent modules, and can control the adjacent modules by a signal on a clock signal line. At communication errors, a clock is suspended to make fail-safe control with respect to a communication abnormality.
