PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved-type retainer and a method for maintaining a circuit card using a circuit card retainer comprising the spring wire of certain length. SOLUTION: The spring wire determines the longitudinal direction axis of a retainer. The spring wire is positioned in the surface of the retainer. The spring wire is formed such that the waveform portion 24 of the retainer is demarcated. The waveform portion has a mountain and a valley of the spring wire positioned in the surface of the retainer. At least some of the mountain and/or the valley are offset from the axis of the retainer.
