<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recorder wherein a recording waveform is formed suitably on a recording medium regardless of a manufacturer, a version and the like of the recording medium set in the apparatus and high recording quality and reproducing quality are always maintained, and to provide an information processor provided with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recorder 1 includes an information acquiring means 18 for acquiring information for recording condition of the recording medium 100 from information previously recorded in the recording medium 100 set in the apparatus 1; an information holding means 17 for holding a plurality of information matters for recording conditions to plural kinds of recording mediums; and an information comparing means 18 for comparing information acquired by the information acquiring means 18 and the plurality of information matters held in the information holding means 17 with each other.
