<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and portable workflow support system using image equipment, where the convenience of paper such as additional writing property is utilized, and to provide a workflow retrieval system. <P>SOLUTION: When a workflow is started, an image including image watermark information is digitized. Then original data is analyzed by an image analyzing means, so as to read the image watermark information. A workflow database is searched with the use of the obtained image watermark information, and then, information concerning the corresponding workflow is retrieved. The information retrieved by the above processing is displayed on a user interface to be used by a user and the user reports the operation of the workflow to a workflow controller.
