<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner detector which occupies less space, is high in arranging flexibility, is high in accuracy and is inexpensive. <P>SOLUTION: The toner detector includes a toner (including a conductive material), a non-conductive container housing the toner, a container supporting member freely attachably and detachably supporting the container, and an ID reader having a radio ID chip in the container, performing transmission and reception of radio waves with the radio ID chip, and acquiring the ID number of the radio ID chip. The radio ID chip is arranged at a distance at which the radio ID chip cannot perform the transmission and reception of the radio waves by a conductive member even if the radio waves transmitted by the ID reader reach the chip when the toner amount reaches a prescribed value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
