<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which forms a color image free from color shift by eliminating deviation between a period of one rotation of an intermediate transfer belt and that of a driving roller. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor, an intermediate transfer belt 20a, a driving roller 20c, a stretching roller 20d, and a cleaning brush 20g. At the time of image formation, toner images in respective colors are formed on the photoreceptor and are transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 20a and are superposed on the intermediate transfer belt 20a to form an superposed toner image, and the formed superposed image is collectively transferred onto a transfer material from the intermediate transfer belt 20a. The image forming apparatus is provided with a load applying means 40 which corrects the variation in driving load of the intermediate transfer belt 20a due to operations of bringing the cleaning brush 20g into contact with the intermediate transfer belt 20a and separating the cleaning brush 20g from the intermediate transfer belt 20a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
