<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive planographic printing plate (PS plate) and a method for manufacturing the plate by which the yield can be improved by preventing quality failure such as a residual film. <P>SOLUTION: A coating layer 77 in a portion corresponding to the edge of the PS plate 30 is preliminarily stripped and removed so as to prevent pressure fog caused by pressurizing force on cutting a web. If a PS plate 30 in a state of pressure fog being present is used for printing, a residual film is produced; however, no pressure fog is caused by this method, no residual film is produced.
