<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable music player and playing system capable of playing music according to user's feeling or situation by an easy operation without being equipped with a display. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer device such as a PC classifies a plurality of music data into a plurality of groups, based on major or minor tone or a tempo, creates list information designating music data contained in each group, and transfers the music data and the list information to the portable music player 1. The portable music player 1 includes press buttons (switches) 41 to 45, and stores each transfer list information corresponding to each of the press buttons.
