PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microphone system capable of picking up sound with constant sound quality independently of a position with respect to a sound source. SOLUTION: A microphone selection control section 14 turns on switches 15 of microphones 11 directed in a direction of a sound source or of microphones 11 located closest to the sound source and turns off switches 15 of the other microphones on the basis of the direction or the position of the sound source detected by a talker direction discrimination section 13. Thus, only the received signals of the microphones 11 whose switches 15 are turned on are composed and output as sound. Since the received signals of the microphones 11 directed to the sound source being an object of sound collection and the received signals of the microphones 11 closest to the position of the sound source being the object of sound collection are output in the microphone system 1 in this way, the sound can be collected with constant sound quality independently of the position of the microphones with respect to the sound source as a result.
