PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording disk cartridge which has high rigidity. SOLUTION: This disk cartridge has a base frame 10 which encloses a magnetic disk medium DM radially and has an access opening C2 on the side to expose it to the outside, a lower plate 20 which composes the lower wall of the cartridge case C and has a center hole C3 for the chuck to engage the spindle SP of the disk drive D with the magnetic disk medium DM, an upper plate 30 which composes the upper wall of the cartridge case C, a rotary shutter 40 which opens and closes the side opening, and a swing shutter 50 which, being disposed between the magnetic disk medium DM and the lower plate 20 and connected to the rotary shutter 40, rocks following the turning of the rotary shutter 40 to open or close the center chuck hole C3.
