PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network hard disk system clarifying installation location of a network hard disk as a data accumulation object connected to a network and to provide the network hard disk and a network hard disk method. SOLUTION: In this network hard disk system 1, a plurality of network hard disks Hd1-Hdn and client terminals CL1-Cln are connected to a network NW, and the client terminals CL1-CLn search the network hard disks Hd1-Hdn connected to the network NW. Dummy data are transmitted to the predetermined number of the network hard disks Hd1-Hdn selected from the network hard disks Hd1-Hdn as a search result. When the network hard disks Hd1-Hdn receiving the dummy data determine that the received data are the dummy data, the network hard disks Hd1-Hdn output a report showing receipt of the dummy data.
