PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable resin composition capable of exhibiting excellent antistaticity, anti-fogging property, printing aptitude and lubricity while maintaining its molecular weight to such an extent that practically satisfactory strength of a molded item can be attained even when manufactured by a kneading method. SOLUTION: The biodegradable resin composition contains 0.05-5.0 wt% of a surfactant composition comprised of 90-10 wt% of a nitrogen-containing surfactant (A) represented by general formula (1) and 10-90 wt% of a borate surfactant (B) bearing one or more 1-30C hydrophobic groups (a reaction product of a compound, obtained by esterifying a polyhydric alcohol with a higher fatty acid, with boric acid, a salt of the reaction product, a reaction product of a polyhydric alcohol borate ester of with a higher fatty acid, or the like).
