PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent order shift of stacked paper without generating noise and securely prevent conveying jam caused by collision. SOLUTION: In this paper stock mechanism 20, a tip part of paper P carried in from a conveying roller pair 51 is downward guided by a guide member 60 provided in an upper end side of a paper receiving plate 42. By a lifting/lowering member 43 provided so as to be lifted/lowered along the paper receiving plate 42 within a predetermined range which has a lower position set lower than a guide part 61 of the guide member 60 by the length of the paper P, the tip part of the paper P guided by the guide part 61 of the guide member 60 is supported in the state that the tip part of the paper P is lowered to the lower position of the predetermined range, and the paper P is inclined to the paper receiving plate 42 side. Until the rear end part of the inclined paper P is situated in the position higher than that of the guide part 61 of the guide member 60 by lifting the lifting/lowering member 43, the paper P is pushed up along the paper receiving plate 42.
