PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch operating mechanism for a vehicle capable of easily adjusting a position of a palm rest while an occupant is seated on a vehicle seat. SOLUTION: An operation switch 28 operated by an occupant with fingers is installed on a top front end of a console box body 10, and a palm rest 18 is set on the rear side. An operation knob 44 for canceling a lock condition of the console box body 10 is installed in a range for finger to reach on a bottom side of the palm rest 18. Accordingly, the occupant can easily pull the operation knob 44 with one hand to cancel the lock condition to move the console box body 10 forward and backward without operations such as opening of a cover when a forward and backward position of the palm rest 18 is adjusted.
