PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light railway vehicle body structure with a smooth appearance, high rigidity and high water-tightness. SOLUTION: A frame 15 for a window is arranged inside a drift plate 14. The frame 15 for the window is equipped with parallel long sides 15a, short sides 15b, and connection parts 15c connecting the long sides 15a and the short sides 15b. The long sides 15a extend along the drift plate 14, and the short sides 15b and the connection parts 15c are folded inward of the drift plate 14 via a folding part 15b. The folding part 15d of the frame 15 for the window is jointed with an end 14a of the drift plate 14 by laser continuous welding. A reinforcing material 17 for reinforcing the frame 15 for the window is arranged inside the frame 15 for the window. The reinforcing material 17 connects the long sides 15a with the short sides 15b, and forms a hollow structure together with the frame 15 for the window. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
