The invention relates to a method for handling data messages in a communications system, an appropriate communications system and to the subscribers thereof. During a redundant data message exchange of the in a hierarchical ring system, a multiplication message problem always occurs for transmitting a data message from a first ring to a second ring. Said problem prevented until now the permanent redundant data message transmission through said hierarchical ring systems. In order to solve the problem, each subscriber handles a redundant data message which is received for transmission according to a set of rules implemented therein. Said rule set consists in splitting the original data message, transmitting it in the system and in destroying circulating data messages. For this purpose in order to implement said rule set, the subscriber is provided with a storage unit for storing the subscriber addresses, a marking is associated exactly with each storage unit and a second marking is associated exactly with each subscriber address. |
