<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase changing-type optical recording medium which has the same capacity as DVD-ROM and successful repeated recording characteristics at a high linear velocity equivalent to not less than 8 times as much and also, has a small increase of jitter at an early time of repeated recording after the lapse of a few weeks following an initial crystallization. <P>SOLUTION: This phase changing-type optical recording medium comprises at least a first protecting layer, a phase changing recording layer, a second protecting layer and a reflective layer formed on a substrate. Further, in this optical recording medium, a reversible phase change is generated in the phase changing recording layer by irradiation with a laser light and thereby, the recorded information is regenerated using this optical change. The phase changing recording layer is formed of an alloy of such a composition as indicated by SnαSbβGaγGeδM(I)ε[provided, however that M(I) is at least one element selected from among Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, 5≤α≤20, 60≤β≤85, 2≤γ≤10, 2≤δ≤14, 0.5≤ε≤5, α+β+γ+δ+ε=100 atomic% ]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
