<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for forming a connective tissue used as a thick transplantable biosheet that covers the surface of the skin, cornea, cardiac muscles, valves, membranes or the like or substitutes for at least a part of a biological tissue working in a membrane form. <P>SOLUTION: A substrate is provided to form a connective tissue. When the substrate is implanted within or inserted into the body, a connective tissue sheet (a biosheet) containing cells and extracellular matrix components is grown on the surface of the substrate.
