<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly carry out image formation in a memory saving manner of PDL data or an electronic document including an alpha blend. <P>SOLUTION: A printer has a process of carrying out post-processing of an alpha blend process at a point of time of intermediate data generation when a process of drawing in a frame memory is unable to carry out the alpha blend process, and providing the intermediate data in a state not including the alpha blend process.
