PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic halide detection device in oil, capable of rapidly analyzing its concentration when an organic halide, such as PCB, exists in the oil. SOLUTION: The organic halide detection device 10-1 comprises an oil supply section 13 for supplying oil 11 containing organic halide into a chamber 12, an ultraviolet light irradiation section 15 for irradiating ultraviolet light 14 to the oil 11 in the chamber 12, and a light detector 17 for generating fluorescence 16 as the electromagnetic radiation, accompanying chlorine atom dissociation in oil molecules by the irradiation of the ultraviolet light 14 and detecting the fluorescence 16 generated.
