PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure accumulator for storing pressurized tap water in a pressure accumulation container connected to a feed pipe of waterworks. SOLUTION: The pressure accumulator (10) stores pressurized tap water in the pressure accumulation container (12) connected to the feed pipe (8) of the waterworks, and has an energy accumulating means (10) in which energy is accumulated; a check valve (16) arranged on an upstream side of the pressure accumulation container; an on-off valve (18) connected to a branch pipe line (18a) branched from a pipe line extending from the feed pipe to the check valve, and having an inlet end and an outlet end; and a spout valve (20) arranged on a downstream side of the pressure accumulation container, for spouting tap water pressurized by the energy accumulated in the energy accumulating means simultaneously with opening of the valve. The on-off valve functions to relieve the tap water fed from the feed pipe to the outlet end when opened, and to increase water pressure at the inlet end when closed, and by virtue of the function the on-off valve is repeatedly opened/closed to distribute the pressurized tap water into the pressure accumulation container.
