PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw thread forming tool and a screw thread method using the screw thread forming tool. SOLUTION: The screw thread forming tool can be rotated around the tool axis, and has an action area having a plurality of pressurizing projection parts. The pressurizing projection parts are disposed respectively so as to be offset in the axial direction with respect to the tool axis, and designed so as to press-machine the thread on the surface of the workpiece. This invention is based on an idea to adapt to the screw thread forming tool for the material of the workpiece to generate the screw thread by using a geometrical parameter.
