PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fouling prevention material, which enables a significant improvement in the fouling prevention efficiency of a separation membrane through surface treatment of the separation membrane such as a reverse osmosis membrane. SOLUTION: The fouling prevention material contains a polymer that at least contains as a constitutional unit a monomer containing a phosphorylcholine-analogous group represented by general formula (1), wherein R1denotes a 1-10C divalent hydrocarbon group, R2denotes a 1-4C divalent hydrocarbon group, and R3, R4, and R5may be the same or differ from each other and are each hydrogen atoms or 1-6C hydrocarbon groups.
