PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating water capable of producing cluster water efficiently and in a short time which includes a small cluster, has a far-infrared effect and can efficiently absorb a far-infrared ray to convert into heat, and an apparatus for treating water. SOLUTION: The method for treating water comprises making the cluster of water small by pressurizing water for treatment during a fixed time in a state of bringing it into contact with ceramics 1 having the far-infrared effect.
