A display device is provided with a normal display area for normal display, and a DV display area for DV display, within a common display screen. A pixel row corresponding to the DV display area is arranged in a fixed order for each direction for displaying an image. A barrier section (20) for blocking light is provided only in the DV display area so that light emitted from each pixel row corresponding to the DV display area is not observed from a direction other than the display direction of the pixel row. Thus, the display device, which has the display area suitable for the normal display and the display area which can perform the DV display, within the common display screen, is provided.
