<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of suppressing power consumption by reducing the number of times of the position detection of a defective pixel. <P>SOLUTION: If a change operation for changing the setup of time information is performed, a system controller 40 controls a position detector 51 so as to detect the position of a defective pixel. Then, the system controller 40 decides whether defective pixels are increased, by comparing the number of pixels of defective pixels detected by a position detector 51 with the number of pixels of defective pixels memorized by a positional information storage 52. When it is decided that defective pixels are not increased, the update processing of positional information is not performed.
