METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STERILIZING LIQUID FOOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for sterilizing a liquid food, by which a liquid food is improved in safety and preservation through killing microorganisms (mainly heat resistant spore bearing bacteria) to be a problem in the liquid food.

SOLUTION: This method for sterilizing the liquid food comprises killing the liquid food having electroconductive properties using an energizing unit clipped by a pair or above of metallic electrodes. The energizing unit is a sealed system and microorganisms are killed through continuously dipping the liquid food to the energizing unit applied with voltage. As the energizing unit is pressed with the liquid pressure of the liquid food itself, efficient sterilization treatment with pressure alternating current high electrical field is allowed without holding the energizing unit in a pressure container.
