PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display method, a map display program, and a map display device enabling a user to comprehend information necessary for traveling only with a quick glance while driving by displaying information necessary for navigation in a comprehensible manner for the user instead of just being caught up in displaying map information with minute accuracy. SOLUTION: In the map display method, respective route ends in two or more of following display areas are continuously connected and display of combination of the respective display areas is performed: a three-dimensional display area 51 wherein three-dimensional display from the present position P to a first passage point Q is performed; a two-dimensional fixed reduced scale display area 52 wherein two-dimensional display in fixed reduced scale from the first passage point Q to a second passage point R or to a destination S is performed; a two dimensional variable reduced scale display area 53 wherein two-dimensional display in variable reduced scale from the second passage point R or the first passage point Q to the destination S is performed.
