PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for processing a video signal in which an HDD with large recording capacity can be efficiently packaged and of which practical use can be effectively promoted. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: an apparatus body 12 including reception means 23, 28, 31, 33 for receiving a video signal, signal processing means 24-26, 29, 30, 32, 34, 35 for applying predetermined signal processing to a received video signal, and a video display means 14 for displaying a video signal to which signal processing is applied; an HDD unit 20 which incorporates an HDD 52; and a stand 13 which is packaged on a predetermined pedestal, supports the apparatus body 12 so as to raise a video display screen of the video display means 14, and includes a housing part 42 for removably housing the HDD unit 20 inside.
