PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize SN improvement, without increasing lamp luminance or the scale of a lens concerning the SN improvement processing of an image-reading device. SOLUTION: This image reading device is configured to calculate (max-min) from the peripheral pixel values of a pixel under consideration, and to execute LPF processing to a read image signal when the (max-min) value is a predetermined reference level or less, and not to execute the LPF processing, when the (max-min) value is the predetermined reference level or higher.
