PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a light source 13, an adjustment mirror 15 and an adjustment lens (collimator lens) 14 are simply handled while relative positional accuracy of instruments is improved by installing a plurality of optical instruments into an integrally formed scanning optical member to form it as a unit. SOLUTION: A plurality of light sources 13BK, 13M, 13Y and 13C, a plurality of collimator lenses 14, a plurality of adjustment mirrors 15 and a polygon mirror 8 are built in a supporting base member 16 to integrally form them as a light source unit Y1. Further, the light source unit Y1 is so formed to easily be mounted on and removed from a scanning optical unit X1 in which a deflection mirror 6 is built in. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
