PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for testing the sealing of a can, allowing a sealing test of high quality / high efficiency. SOLUTION: The sealing testing device of the can has a vacuum chamber for storing the can, and a bottom-plate presser for suppressing expansion of the bottom plate of the can inside it. The ceiling of the vacuum chamber has a sealing section that comes into contact over the whole circumference of the upper end of the top plate of the can, and the floor of the vacuum chamber has the liftable bottom plate presser.
