PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault point orientation method of a transmission line, a fault point location device of the transmission line, and a fault point location program, having low cost, high speed and high accuracy. SOLUTION: In a signal processing part 12, accident surge waveform data are transformed into transformed waveform data in each order from the first order to a prescribed order by binary wavelet transformation, and synthesized waveform data are generated, and the arrival time and the absolute value of a direct wave, and the arrival time and the absolute value of a reflected wave of the accident surge waveform are extracted. In a simulation part 13, while moving a virtual accident point along the transmission line, the arrival time and the absolute value of a direct wave, and the arrival time and the absolute value of a reflected wave of a virtual accident waveform are predicted. In a comparison part 14, a virtual accident point corresponding to the arrival time and the absolute value of the direct wave, and the arrival time and the absolute value of the reflected wave which are predicted and have the closest correlation with the arrival time and the absolute value of the direct wave, and the arrival time and the absolute value of the reflected wave which are extracted from the synthesized waveform data is taken as the accident point at the electric accident time of the transmission line.
