PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered metal bearing or a sintered oil-impregnated bearing which is a bearing made of sintered metal predominantly composed of stainless steel powder, which is sufficiently durable in use under the corrosive environment without deteriorating the corrosion resistance, which rotates at low torque over a long time from the initial stage of startup, and to which nonlead-based solid lubricating component having a little environmental load is added as a single component. SOLUTION: The sintered metal bearing is made up of a sintered metal which takes stainless steel powders as a predominant component and formed by blending 0.5-20 wt% manganese sulfide(MnS) powder therewith, wherein the sintered metal bearing is impregnated with lubricating oil or liquid grease so as to set the oil content between 5 and 25 vol%.
