PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy ingot as a stock material which can be machined and is adapted to desired physical properties of Al-Si-Cu-Mg-based aluminum alloy castings manufactured by die casting and its production method. SOLUTION: The ingot is obtained by heat treating the ingot formed by continuous casting of an alloy prepared by further incorporating one or two or more elements among 0.02 to 0.20 wt% Cr, 0.02 to 0.20 wt% Ti, and 0.02 to 0.20 wt% V into an alloy containing 8.0 to 11.0 wt% Si, 2.5 to 4.5 wt% Cu, 0.2 to 0.8 wt% Mg,≤0.25 wt% Fe and the balance aluminum and inevitable impurities, wherein the 0.2% yield strength of the aluminum alloy ingot after the continuous casting is 145 to 170 MPa and the thermal conductivity is 110 to 125 W/mx°C.
