PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene copolymer composition which has excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance, flame retardance, etc., and also can be suitably used as a covering material for a cable which is used for a camera or in medical treatment and thus required to be highly flexible. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant ethylene copolymer composition contains a polymer composition (D) and a specified amount of ammonium polyphosphate (E). The polymer composition (D) is prepared by melt kneading 99.9-50 wt% of at least one ethylene copolymer (A) selected from among an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer (A1), an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic ester copolymer (A2), and an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer (A3) with 0.1-50 wt% of a resin (B) in the presence of an organic peroxide (C). The resin (B) is a multi-component propylene copolymer prepared by copolymerizing 0.1-20 mol% of a component other than propylene or is a blend of the multi-component propylene copolymer and a propylene homopolymer.
