PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for coating having a high gas barrier property under high humidity. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the resin composition for coating comprising a polyvinyl alcohol based resin and a modified resin coupled with the polyvinyl alcohol based resin by reacting hydroxyl groups of the polyvinyl alcohol with a carboxyl group, an epoxy group, an aldehyde group, an isocyanate group, a hyrolyzable silane group or the like.
