PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an underframe of a railroad vehicle having an airtight structure. SOLUTION: The underframe 10 has a side beam 20 arranged at both end position of the width direction of a vehicle body along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. The side beam 20 consists of an aluminum alloy-made extrusion having a hollow sectional shape. An end beam 30 is joined with an end of each side beam in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. A body bolster 40 is installed at the truck installation position of the underframe 10. A joist 70 and a joist 75 are installed on an upper face of a floor plate 60. The joist 70 and the joist 75 consists of an aluminum alloy-made extrusion having an inverted L-shaped sectional shape. The joist 70 is installed along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body over the substantially entire length of the underframe 10. A slit 77 is formed in the joist 70 in a longitudinal plate part of the inverted L-shaped sectional shape. The slit attenuates the vibration from the body bolster. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
