PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for classifying particles by using a simple method, and a compact classifying device capable of performing the continuous operation. SOLUTION: The classifying device for classifying a plurality of particles of different grain sizes contained in a fluid has an inner cylinder rotatable around the axis, and an outer cylinder which is fixed coaxially with the inner cylinder and with a predetermined space from the inner cylinder while the inner cylinder is arranged inside thereof. The inner cylinder is rotated so as to satisfy the predetermined condition to generate Taylor's vortex having the mixed promoting area and the isolated mixed area, and to classify the particles flown in the space between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder.
