The invention especially relates to an appliance for producing a reinforcement for a pneumatic tyre, said appliance being used to produce a reinforcement from a wire (2) which is essentially continuously delivered at the request of an appropriate distributor. The inventive appliance is to be used with an essentially toroidal form (1) on which the reinforcement is progressively constructed by arranging arches (3) of said wire according to a desired path for the wire to the surface of said form. The inventive appliance comprises a wire-guiding element (4) in which the wire can slide, means (5) for displacing the guiding element against the desired path for the wire, and first and second pressure means (7, 8) which are respectively arranged around the form and can maintain the wire against the form essentially at the ends (6) of the arches. The inventive appliance is characterised in that the pressure means comprise a rotating pressure arm (9) at least on one side (B) of the form.
