Process and device for cleaning and drying objects using an azeotrope mixture

The objects to be cleaned are put into a handling chamber (1), which is then simultaneously evacuated of air. A cleaning emulsion is put into the chamber and used to treat the objects and then drained off. One or more solvents are put into the handling chamber. At least one solvent forms an azeotropic minimum with water in the bubble-point curve and does not normally mix with water at normal temperature and normal pressure. The objects are treated with solvent and the pressure is lowered to evaporate the water and solvent from the azeotrope. The solvent is let out of the chamber. The objects are vacuum-dried. The chamber reverts to normal pressure and the cleaned objects are then taken out.
