924,358. Two-part couplings. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Sept. 27, 1960 [Oct. 2, 1959], No. 33172/60. Class 38 1(). In an assembly, consisting of an insulating plate having a plug in edge portion and carrying electrical components and associated interconnecting wiring, the plug contacts of the plug-in portion consist of a plurality of wires each separately anchored at two points to the plate, spaced apart in the plug-in direction. Fig. 3 shows a contact 6 formed from a length of wire and anchored in holes in the plate 2 at two spaced apart points by circular anchoring discs 3, having opposing edge notches receiving the wire. The contact surface 1 may be on the opposite side of the plate to the circuit wiring 17, connection thereto being made by passing the end of the contact wire through a hole 8 in the plate, or on the same side, Fig. 6 (not shown). Alternatively, Fig. 7, the contact wire may be bent round the edge of the plate for use with a bifurcated socket contact 19, and anchoring it on opposite sides of the plate. The contact resistance of the plug contacts may be lowered by coating them with a noble metal which may also be applied to the interconnecting wiring. |
