A tamper resistant lamp cover 1 comprises an inner diffuser 2 and an outer diffuser 4 which sandwich between them a mesh 3. The mesh 3 can be a diamond mesh and the diffusers can be trough shaped, plastic polycarbonate with a flange 6, 8. The purpose of the mesh 3 is to dissipate heat: if a flame, such as a cigarette lighter, is used to melt the outer diffuser 4 the heat will be dissipated along the mesh to slow or prevent melting or failure of the inner diffuser 2 and subsequent unauthorised access to the light fitting. |
