Objective To provide an automotive airbag pressure adjustment apparatus capable of preventing an excessive rise in internal airbag pressure in order to reduce potential injury to the occupant of a vehicle. Means A cylinder (4) fills with gas infused into an automotive airbag (2) by an inflator device, and are connected to the internal region of the airbag through a pressure release hole (vent) (3) formed in the airbag. The pressure generated by the flow of gas entering the cylinder operates a freely moving piston (5) installed therein. An energizing member, in the form of a coil spring (6), is installed within the cylinder as means of energizing the piston in a direction opposing the gas pressure application direction. Gas outlets (7), which are formed in the cylinder and variably opened by the movement of the piston, provide means of releasing the gas pressure within the cylinder.
