A method and system for paying and verifying fees for a service, such as a parking fee. A communication unit, COM, is loaded with a message, such as the fact that a fee has been paid for the service. The message comprises identification information about a receiver intended for receiving the message. The communication unit is polled by a receiver terminal having a receiver terminal identification information. The message is received provided that the receiver identification information agrees with the receiver terminal identification. The message is loaded to the communication unit by a personal terminal. The content of the message is in itself proof to its authenticity. A variety of methods can be used depending on the level of security required in any specific application, e.g. codes, encryption and cryptographic signatures. |
