FIELD: agriculture. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding fruits and soil crumbs onto surface of upper belt run; providing rolling of soil crumbs on slopes until they take stabilized position; discharging fruits and crumbs from said surface in different directions, with rolling of fruits and soil crumbs on upper run surface of conveyor belt being provided at constant velocity of 0.05-0.10 m/s; orienting elongated axis of symmetry of fruits transverse to slope and rolling on path equal to maximum perimeter of crumb; providing discharge of fruits and soil crumbs from conveyor by free falling of soil crumbs and forced falling of fruits. Apparatus comprises belt conveyor equipped with driving and driven rolls and endless flexible belt with smooth outer surface inclined to horizontal plane, and separating member made in the form of additional conveyor. Apparatus is further provided with supporting table mounted between driving and driven rolls and under upper run of endless flexible belt in upwardly inclined position relative to horizontal plane in direction of advancement of upper run of endless flexible belt. Separating member located along contour of belt conveyor is made in the form of plated conveyor mounted on pulling and supporting wheels. Pulling wheels of flexible pulling endless members and driving roll of belt conveyor are axially aligned with respect to one another. Each of said planks is located by fastening means on flexible pulling endless members so that planks adhere to upper run of endless flexible belt above supporting table and have single advancement direction and velocity smaller than that of belt. Distance between planks of separating member is equal to perimeter of crumb having maximum size. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced labor intensity for sorting out of heap. ^ 4 cl, 6 dwg
