<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device compliant with new use by using the capability of data exchange, in a noncontact manner by a semiconductor device, such as an RFID, thus reducing the burden of the user and improving the convenience. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor device has an arithmetic circuit, comprising a transistor, a conductive layer functioning as an antenna, a detection part having a means of detecting physical quantity or chemical quantity, and a storage part for storing data detected by the detection part, wherein the arithmetic circuit, the conductive layer, the detection part and the storage part are covered with a protective layer.
