PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital data receiver capable of switching an image and a still image, with noticing a specific image area on a screen. SOLUTION: A digital data receiver (10) includes a digital data generator (16) to receive a broadcast wave in order to generate digital data, an image data generator (20, 21) to generate image data from the digital data, a detection part (20, 21) to detect an error signal from data corresponding to specific image areas (52, 54, 55, 56) in the digital data, and a switching control part (34) to control switching from the image data to freeze image data, base on the error signal.
