PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector in which the nozzle forming face in a liquid ejection head can be cleaned surely even when the liquid ejector is used over a long term without complicating the liquid ejector itself. SOLUTION: An ink jet printer comprises a control section having an ROM storing a routine of ink deposition suppression processing. When the processing transits to step S17 as a result of decision processing of steps S10-S16 in the routine of ink deposition suppression processing, a CPU drives an elevator to release sealing of the nozzle forming face in a recording head by a cap. Subsequently, the CPU drives a piezoelectric element to eject cyan ink as a liquid for dispersion from the recording head and then sucks the cyan ink by means of a suction pump and discharges it into a waste tank.
